Someday I'll Be Going Home - A Song for our Vets....

Once a year on Memorial Day, in Honor of our Vets, I share this song Rob and I wrote and recorded in Nashville, TN with Dan Mohler on bass, Jim Klingler on drums, Rickey Godfree on lead guitar and keys, and Rob on rhythm guitar.

The story of how it came about his here: THANK YOU HERO'S

Below the video are the lyrics which I feel are amazing and which I feel I was 'channeled' to write (as you will read in the linked story).

The song video created by Ron Beatteay made for us is well worth a watch and musically the ending of this tune is really amazing... I worked hard on the way the song pauses and then takes off again - powerful - emotional - very cathartic... and the GUITAR you see at 4:22 into the video, Rob donated through Dan's wife Vicky who works with our Service Men.

Thank you Vets.... your service is so appreciated more than words can convey.

And BIG thanks to Vicky Lyons Mohler for contacting us and hooking us up with Brian Crabtree who put the entire project together.

You can support this project by buying the double CD which contains many amazing songs from different artists - at the THANK YOU HERO'S LINK or by purchasing the single from CDBaby.

SOMEDAY I'LL BE GOING HOME

(C) 2018 Cee Cee James / Rob Slideboy Andrews Someday I’ll be goin’ home Leavin’ this war behind

And all the Soldiers who lost their lives on the line Fighting for our freedom Such a heavy sacrifice I’m gonna carry all their laughter The hidden tears that they cried I’m gonna carry their sweat, blood and fear And the courage in their eyes I’m gonna carry their pride until the day I die Someday I’ll be goin’ home I’ll be leaving this war behind And I’m gonna carry all those Soldiers In my heart, my soul, and my mind So when you look in my eyes You will see their sacrifice Someday I’ll be goin’ home To my wonderful family I’ll fall into their arms and their sweet warm love I’m home... I’m finally home by the grace of God And everyday that passes I’ll sit and bow my head For all the Soldiers who died fighting for our rights Prayin’ for their families, their children Such a heavy sacrifice Someday I’ll be goin’ home I’ll be leaving this war behind And I’m gonna carry all those Soldiers In my heart, my soul, and my mind So when you look in my eyes You will see their sacrifice Someday I’ll be goin’ home I’ll be leaving this world all alone And when I walk through those pearly gates All those Soldiers I’ll embrace And I know our Lord will Smile, I know he’ll say well done And I know our Lord will Smile, I know he’ll say well done And I know the Lord will Smile, and I know he’ll say well done Ou, ou, well done Ou, ou, well done He’s gonna smile and say well done Take you in his arms and say well done Look you in your heart and say well done Take you in his arms and say.... well... done
